What we collect
YourWaterReport.com collects minimal data. Specifically:
- Analytics data — We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are visited and how users navigate the site. This data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not use it to identify individual users.
- Search queries — ZIP codes or county names entered into the search form are used solely to return the correct county page. We do not store or log individual search queries.
- Email addresses — If you sign up for water quality alerts, we store your email address to send those alerts. We do not sell or share email addresses with third parties.
What we don't collect
We do not collect names, addresses, or any personally identifiable information beyond email addresses provided voluntarily for alerts. We do not require account creation to access any content on this site.
Cookies
Google Analytics places cookies on your device to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-party links
County pages and resource pages link to external sites (state health departments, testing labs, government databases). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Affiliate links
Testing recommendations on county pages include affiliate links. If you purchase a test kit through one of these links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect our testing recommendations, which are based solely on local data.
